Dr Farkhondeh Akbari

Co-Founder

Peace settlements and women, peace and security Specialist

Farkhondeh has several years of experience working in human rights and peacebuilding, and researching on political settlements and women, peace and security agenda. She has worked with multiple governmental and non-governmental organization in Afghanistan, Australia and the US, including at the UN Headquarter, AIHRC, and IDLG. She has completed her PhD research in diplomatic actors, peace settlements with the Taliban in Afghanistan and Khmer Rouge in Cambodia at the Australian National University. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Gender, Peace and Security Centre at Monash University.


Kobra Moradi

Justice and Reconciliation Researcher

Kobra has several years of experience as a researcher and consultant in international law. She is currently working at the International Criminal Law Media Review and has previously worked at the United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials, UNHCR, and Australia's Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. She is currently completing her Master in International Law and Diplomacy and holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) and International Relations.

Jamila Ahmadi

Women and Community Development Specialist

Jamila has over 5 years of experience in human right advocacy, gender policy, refugee policy and community development. She has worked with various national and international NGOs, including at the UNHCR, Scope Global, Council of Migrant and Refugee Women of South Australia, Women’s Working Centre, Espalo, and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Australia.  She holds a Master in International Relations from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Development Studies and International Studies.

Temur Rezaie

Youth Specialist

Temur has more than 10 years of experience in social work focusing on youth engagement, community counselling, and project management in grassroots development with various national and international organizations, including Centre for Multicultural Youth, Humanitarian Crisis Hub and Victorian Government Youth Committee. He holds a Master in Social Work, another Master in Development Studies from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Social Sciences.

Jassin Rezai

Jassin has 15 years of multicultural work. Currently he is working as a youth and community coordinator at multicultural centre of Jyaskyla Finland. Jassin is First Deputy Counsellor from the Greens Party in the municipality of Jyaskyla. Jassin has a Bachelor in youth and civic work and doing his master’s in political science at Jyaskyla University.

Romish Fahad

Disability Health Specialist

Romish has over 11 years of experience in disability services, health sciences, project management and IT through various national and international organisations both in Australia and India. He holds a Master in Health Sciences and a Bachelor in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering.

Shakiba Akbari

Community Health Specialist

Shakiba is a public health professional with over 7 years of experience in global health, including in research, program coordination and program management for international projects.  She has worked with multiple international public health organizations, such as Nossal Institute for Global Health and Murdoch Children's Research Institute. She holds two Masters in Public Health and Health Administration from La Trobe University and a Bachelor in Biological Sciences.

 ODS provides a platform for the young Afghan diaspora to contribute to their homeland in the development and peacebuilding sectors.
